At Swapfiets, we’re on a mission to make everyone fall in love with biking. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the 5 repair sites in The Netherlands that support our retail footprint of 19 stores, including functions such as repair, logistics and storage of bicycles. You will be reporting into the General Manager of the Benelux with a dotted line to the COO and be a part of the Benelux cross-functional leadership team. You’re a proactive team player with a track record in leading (multiple) operational sites.


How you pedal us forward

  • Lead the Repair-, Warehouse- and Logistics- Operations of warehouses within the Netherlands for which you hold P&L responsibility;

  • Manage and develop the Warehouse Managers in the territory, and steers, through the Warehouse Managers, the development of the key roles within the district team for repair and logistics operation providing coaching and guidance;

  • Liaise with your colleague District Managers of Store & Field to cater for optimal alignment while servicing the Swapfiets stores in the region;

  • Provide input on & responsible for tactics applied to execute the Global Swapfiets Operations strategy & the Dutch growth plans;

  • Provide bottom up input to relevant HQ team strategies & global standards such as Supply Planning, Continuous Improvement, Process Engineering and Operational Excellence;

  • Take responsibility for driving a culture of discipline, safety and continuous improvement;

  • Work closely with the Supply Chain team around timely providing the supply-input for the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process;

  • Own the S&OP process for warehouse & logistics in the Netherlands, including repair forecasting accuracy and delivery of output and quality;

  • Leverage know-how and experience of other warehouses and/or (HQ support) functions to drive improvement;

  • Drive excellence by copy-pasting best practices or actively sharing best practices of its own region with the bigger network;

  • Assure teams are trained to drive bottom-up improvements (continuous improvement) leveraging Problem-Solving techniques;

  • Drive standardization of end-to-end processes through Standard Operating Procedures, assuring ownership and accountability around key processes;

  • Anticipate on the Workforce Planning together with the People & Culture team (HR business partner and recruitment).


The gear you need

  • Academic / Higher vocational level;

  • 7-10 years experience, including 5+ years of leadership experience in leading managers;

  • Experience in managing a business unit with P&L responsibility and running a business on budget;

  • Experience in leading production sites and with 5s, Lean/Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement and relevant tactical and analytical skills;

  • Fluency in English (Dutch is a plus);

  • Enjoy working in a dynamic and fast moving environment;

  • You are flexible to travel extensively within the Netherlands and Belgium;

  • Your leadership experience and excellent stakeholder management skills are reflected in your entrepreneurial thinking and leadership, acting as a team builder and always leading your team by example, also in times of change;

  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and possess great motivational skills.
