You will drive a stable finance team, where there is room for growth and coaching, whilst not losing track of deadlines and quality of the financials;
You will be the first level of defence in internal reporting and business cases and be the liaison between the CFO and the rest of the team by making sure things “get done”;
You will manage (system) change in our ambition to have tighter and more formal closing procedures and making sure proposed control & risk framework (as developed by the accounting & control team) is adequately executed;
You will coach the Business control team on country strategies and performance reviews and challenge group performance and initiate improvements /close the gap negotiations.
You will participate in key projects including strategic must win battles, new system implementations, BI implementation, KPI dashboarding;
You are responsible for long term financial cash flow forecasting, including long term fleet planning;
You will contribute to the strategic dialogue with CFO and Higher management including the responsibility for financial forecasting of expansions;
You will make sure the financial input into the Supervisory Board deck is prepared timely and accurately.
The gear you need:
Our ideal candidate will be somebody that is eager to grow to a CFO role within the next 3-5 years and is an experienced Senior Finance Manager or has been a Senior Manager with a Big4 accountancy firm. Next to that, you bring:
People leadership - You are down to earth and easily accessible for your team and help them grow in their professional career;
Strong analytical skills – you can quickly interpret complex financial data and translate it into actionable insights;
Strategic thinking – you see the bigger picture and connect finance to the overall company strategy;
Business acumen – you understand how different departments operate and what drives performance across the business;
Good communication skills – you can clearly explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders and influence decision-making;
Proactive mindset – you take initiative, anticipate challenges, and propose improvements before they become issues;
Strong stakeholder management – you are comfortable advising and challenging senior leadership with confidence and tact;
Affinity with automation and digital tools;
Preferably Chartered accountant or Chartered controller (RA/RC);
Benefits for a smooth ride:
90 to 110K per annum (including holiday pay)
Your own Swapfiets (lend-lease) 🚲!
32 vacation days (that’s right, next to 25 vacation days you can use your 7 Swap days as you
please)
A solid pension plan and a discount on your health insurance
Windows laptop
Lots of flexibility (minimum of 2 days at the office), responsibility, challenging work, and friendly colleagues
Travel allowance (if you live more than 11 km away from the office, otherwise you’ll just use your Swapfiets, right.. 😎?)
Delicious freshly cooked lunch by our lunch heroes at the office for a small contribution
UrbanSportsClub for Business arrangement (to promote your healthy lifestyle!)
Learning programs developed by our L&D department
Lots of workshops and inspirational talks
One day off per year to do voluntary work paid by Swapfiets
Ready for the Swapfiets adventure?
If you are a detailed-oriented finance professional with a passion for financial excellence, and you’re excited about contributing to a sustainable and rapid growing company, we encourage you to apply!
Peddaling towards inclusivity at Swapfiets!
At Swapfiets, we believe in the power of diversity and inclusivity. While we’re proud of our progress, we know there’s more to do. Research shows underrepresented groups often hesitate to apply unless they meet all requirements—but we don’t check all the boxes either! We value equal opportunity, unique perspectives, and diverse experiences. So, even if you don’t see yourself represented on our team, we encourage you to apply—because when we pedal together, we go further!
