We are looking for a Group Financial Controller to continue our growth journey and to build a sustainable, profitable business. This role is for an individual with experience in a Big 4 company and/or international fast-paced environment and scalable projects. Our Group Financial Controller is essential to the group finance team and reports directly to the CFO. You will lead a team of 9 individuals with various expertises and backgrounds. You will take responsibility and ownership for the whole accounting and reporting cycle, including implementation of appropriate policies, procedures, and processes to ensure an effective control environment. Next to that, you will have a key user role during the implementation of SAP S/4HANA alongside providing key information (risks and opportunities) relating to day-to-day business transactions of the operations. You will be important in making decisions to drive business performance.

Next to this, you have proven experience in managing and developing young teams as well as working alongside external stakeholders, including auditors, lenders, business owners, or private equity investors in a scale-up environment.

\What will you be doing?

  • You will lead the financial control team, including 2 direct and 7 indirect reports; 

  • You will be taking ownership of further developing a group finance function, including group reporting, tax, and treasury activities;

  • You will play a key user role in the implementation of SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud;

  • You will be internally reporting, including consolidated monthly management accounts, and ad hoc reporting to the business;

  • You will have day-to-day relationships with the management team, including covenant compliance and robust cash forecasting;

  • You will be doing external reporting, including the annual external audit, drafting of board packs and management reporting to lenders, investors, and other key external stakeholders;

  • You will automate the accounting critical tasks related to finance and accounting;

  • You will manage the external audit, development, and documentation of a strong internal controls framework;

  • You will maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of Dutch GAAP (IFRS is a big plus) within the team – ownership of group and subsidiary accounting policies;

  • Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations, including leading the statutory annual accounts for the countries in which we operate; and

  • Treasury management, including multi-currency FX.

Job requirements

Your profile:

Our ideal candidate will be somebody, preferably with an RA qualification, and has experience of working within Audit firms or has been an accounting manager in a corporate head office finance function. Next to that, you bring:

  • Knowledge and the ability to work in the dynamics of a PAAS sector and scale-up environment;

  • Ability to manage, develop – and coach young talent in their professional career;

  • Experience in process optimization and striving for greater efficiency, by analyzing the company's business processes;

  • Ability to transform the labor-intensive, manual recurring, and repetitive task accounting into automated accounting with minimal human intervention;

  • Mastery of Excel and databases;

  • Good classical analyses based on income behaviour, fixed and variable costs and have experienced several new, more specific models of company cost allocation;
