As the Graphic Design Intern in our Marketing Department at Amsterdam HQ, you’ll be helping to bring Swapfiets’ brand to life through bold, innovative, and visually stunning designs that resonate with our members and reflect our mission to make mobility easy and enjoyable for everyone.

 How you pedal us forward:

You will become a part of our internal Creative Team alongside our Graphic Designer, Creative Lead, Copywriter, Content Creator and Creative Project Manager. Next to that you’ll: 

• Design eye-catching graphics for print and digital platforms, including social media, marketing campaigns, digital advertising, and retail stores.

• Work alongside a creative squad of copywriters, designers, content creators, and brand marketers to bring big ideas to life.

• Keep up with design trends and push boundaries to keep Swapfiets’ visuals fresh and ahead of the curve.

• Fine-tune typography, layouts, and colour palettes to ensure all assets are visually cohesive and impactful.

• Help brainstorm concepts that stand out and translate them into designs that connect with our audience.

• Execute designs in accordance with our brand guidelines.

The gear you need:

You’re studying or recently graduated in Graphic Design (or a similar field) and have a portfolio that shows your ability to think outside the box. Next to that you bring:

• Minimum HBO-working and thinking level.

• Living in the Amsterdam area or willing to commute (please note that Swapfiets does not offer travel compensation for interns).

• Good knowledge of print and digital design execution processes.

• You know your way around typography, composition, colour theory, and layout design. Adobe Creative Suite is your playground.

• Good knowledge of Figma.

• You take initiative, love trying new things, and aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves.

• Collaboration fuels your creativity, and you thrive when bouncing ideas off others.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly articulate your ideas, designs, and suggestions.

• You sweat the small stuff and always aim for pixel-perfect results.

• Efficient at organising and managing project files and assets.

• Fluent English speaking and writing skills.

• You are available for 6 months.

• You can start the internship in April or May.

• You can work at least 32 hours per week.
