Swapfiets has bikes, lots of bikes. At the moment more than 240.000! A large part of these bicycles are stored in our warehouses. If you're looking for a good job in a fast-growing scale-up: then don't look any further! You're the reason our Swapfiets bikes are all over the city and, when things go south, you're the hero who fixes them. You help make sure that everything runs like a breeze!.


What will I be doing?

  • Is the mechanic team Instructor and shares their knowledge;

  • Training of (E-)Bike Mechanics, supports new colleagues in the onboarding program, and provides repair training of Swappers; and gives input to the Quality Controller & Repair Specialist on the training

  • Creating & updating skills matrix repairing team 

  • Responsible for all quality inspections

  • Repairing bikes! Some of the time, if you are not busy with the other responsibilities.

  • Has full autonomy with being an experienced mechanic; identifies complex bike repair problems and supports the more (inexperienced) mechanics 

  • Repairs special cases

  • Repairs, checks, and cleans (E-)Bikes following the Swapfiets standards

  • Ensures the (E-)Bikes product and repair data is properly captured and up to date in the repair database;

  • Delivers on the Swapfiets quality promise, following the standard operating procedures and the quality controls and audits;

  • Keeps the workstation clean; 

  • Follows process for inventory management of (E-)Bikes and parts to keep healthy data up to date.

Job requirements

What skills do I need?

  • MBO bike mechanic, and some years of experience as a mechanic. 

  • Structured and organized way-of-working

  • Good with all type of people

  • Giving feedback to colleagues

  • You have an eye for detail and are a bit of a perfectionist

  • You can work independently but also as a part of the mechanics team

  • You understand and speak English

  • There is no bike you can not fix!


Experience

  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience such as;

  • You have relevant work experience as a bike mechanic

  • You have experience in giving trainings to bike mechanics
