For our Finance Team we are looking for a: Fulltime Internal Control - payroll specialist. (32 - 40 hours a week)

Our Internal Control - payroll specialist is a newly created role and plays an essential part of the group finance control team. For this new role you need to be a self-starter and are in control of your own challenge. You will report to the Group Financial Controller and work extensively together to make this new role a success.
You will liaise with all People & Culture departments and payroll provider(s) and review completeness and accuracy of the monthly wages. Next to that you will set up and maintain the internal control framework for payroll to ensure financial integrity by implementing working procedures, perform and maintain key controls and collect and review payroll data received. You will be important in driving our payroll (tax) compliance and professionalizing our finance and payroll department.

What will you be doing?
Maintain general knowledge in relation to payroll (tax) compliance
Keeps up-to-date and gather information on any changes and developments in tax legislation where Swapfiets operates (EU)
Setting up and maintaining the internal control framework for payroll to ensure financial integrity
Implements working procedures between People & Culture and Payroll function for processing of employee payroll data
Perform and maintain key controls and liaise with People & Culture departments in order to ensure correct processing of employee payroll data in our financial administration
Collects and reviews the payroll data received from the external payroll systems
Liaises with all People & Culture departments and payroll provider(s) and reviews completeness and accuracy of the monthly wages
Increase the awareness of the responsibilities of the People & Culture department with regards to the processing of personal data.
Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation for auditors
Gatekeeper in terms of financial integrity for the monthly payroll payments to employees.
Final sign off on the monthly journals before junior financial control records the journals.
Job requirements
Your profile:
Our ideal candidate will be somebody with 4 years experience of working in a similar role. Next to that you bring:
Dutch and / or International (EU) payroll knowledge;
Effective command of technical skills and professional scepticism;
Familiar with payroll accounting and auditing requirements;
Familiar with employee data processing (GDPR requirements);
Fluent in English;
Great teamspirit ;)
