Your Goal
Swapfiets is a classic start-up story, started by 3 students, who imagined that the bicycle world could be re-invented. No more worries about a broken bike or expensive repairs, but a subscription to a bike that always works. They started in Delft, The Netherlands, and over the course of the past years we have expanded to 7 countries and are available in more than 50 cities. With the latest expanding we are getting one step closer to our current goal: becoming the #1 micro mobility brand in the world!

In this role we are looking for a HSE officer with a passion for safety. Swapfiets is growing fast and we need someone who can set up and manage the current safety standard for every country where it is active. You are responsible for creating and maintaining a high safety culture and making sure everyone at Swapfiets works safely and responsibly.

Your Responsibilities

  • Responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations;

  • Developing measures to assure personnel safety;

  • Travel to all Swapfiets locations ensure the Swapfiets workplaces follow the required regulations;

  • Advice remotely operations managers (Warehouse and Retail) on HSE situations and issues;

  • Correct unsafe acts or conditions through the regular line of authority; Investigate accidents that have occurred within incident areas;

  • Promotes safe practices at the workplace;

  • Enforces EU, national and international safety regulations, and is the Swapfiets representative towards regulatory authorities;

  • Reports to concerned authorities as requested or mandated by regulations;

  • Establishes safety standards and policies as needed.;

  • Coordinates registration and removal of hazardous waste;

  • Serves as the link between state and local agencies and contractors.

  • Conducts risk assessment and enforce preventative measures;

  • Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation;


Your Profile

  • Higher vocational working and thinking level;

  • Preferably education on Health, Safety and Environment;

  • 3-5 years of work experience in health safety and environment;

  • Proactive and hands-on mentality;

  • Excellent in English and local language;
