Want to help turn the world of cycling upside down? Want to create and support digital tools that empower our employees to serve more than 200,000 members?
We are Swapfiets, started in 2014, and currently active in nearly fifty cities across four different countries. At our HQ in Amsterdam, we work with about a hundred colleagues to offer the very best user experience to our members, who in turn receive epic service from a team of 1100+ Swappers and Bike Mechanics.
In this role, you will be part of the Digital Team - the heart of our operations. You will be working on a progressive web application that enables our employees to perform daily tasks needed for providing service to our members from fixing bikes to organizing warehouses. Your app will let the employees click and swipe through their day-to-day tasks, keeping them happy, keeping the company ticking, making the service to our members epic. The app communicates seamlessly with our backend and in-house developed operations and logistics platform.
What are you going to do?
Together with the product team (product owner, designer, fellow engineers) you will design and implement new app features to help automate, standardize, and improve company processes both internal and customer-facing;
You will maintain and guard the quality of the app’s codebase. You’ll continuously stay a few steps ahead of the current architecture, preparing the app for greater functional complexity, but making sure that under the hood it remains simple, transparent, and reusable. You’ll be helping automate more and more development processes;
In between delivering new features and maintaining the architecture, you will handle change requests from the business and ship patches using our automated continuous delivery process, no sweat. You will help to automate the continuous delivery even further;
You will collect and evaluate feedback about the app, both from digital tooling and directly in person from your colleagues - the users of the app. You will translate that input into changes that will improve the usability of the app.
Are you ready to join a team with high ambitions?
We are growing fast and internationally. With your help, we want to continue expanding. What we are most proud of is how much we have already achieved as a team. Our team (around 20 developers, testers, designers, and product managers) is characterized by a positive and collaborative atmosphere, flexibility, and ownership. But also: lots of humor, after-work activities (bootcamp, cycling, barbecues, boxing), daily lunches, and Friday afternoon drinks. At Swapfiets you will not find complex or stiff hierarchical structures. That means you will have the opportunity to grow your career quickly.

Solid CSS and HTML skills;
A good eye for beautiful UI and a sense of how to create the best possible user experience;

Communication skills necessary to give demos and exchange knowledge. And in general to keep the work atmosphere fun;
