We are Swapfiets: the bike membership. Started in 2014, started scaling in 2017 and are currently active in 70+ cities, across 9 different countries. We are on a mission to lead the movement to more livable cities across Europe. Currently we have over 240,000 members on a blue tire.

That means reducing traffic congestion, increasing freedom of movement, and happier, healthier people. Part of this mission? Declaring war on unnecessary waste. How? Through circularity. Simple. We build higher-quality bikes that break down less often, which saves our members the usual hassles of bike ownership. To put it simply - what’s good for you, is good for us, is good for our planet.


Your goal

As a Copywriter in our Creative Marketing Team at Amsterdam HQ, you’ll be responsible for strengthening the market leader position of Swapfiets through engaging, long & short form copy across all touchpoints.

You will help craft and evolve our brand’s tone of voice, as well as write energetic, personality-filled copy for everything from newsletters, to web copy, campaign concepts and executions, social media content, blogs or internal marketing materials.

Focusing on tone of voice and executional copy across 9 European markets, you will be responsible for ensuring consistency and maximum impact of copy in all our local markets.

You will work closely with our creative marketing manager, graphic designer and social media lead, as well as brand managers, our performance marketing-team and any other brand stakeholders.


Your responsibilities

  • Execute snappy, on-brand copy in Dutch & English for all brand touchpoints & evolve the brand tone of voice;

  • Execute copy across; blogs / newsletters / social / web / campaigns;

  • Ensure campaign concepts, tone of voice and copy are adaptable across all markets (in 9 languages);

  • Work with translators to ensure consistency & creative impact;

  • Function as creative team alongside the graphic designer;

  • Execute smart concepts & copy together with the social media team for all our social channels, across multiple markets & platforms;

  • Create messages that succeed across mediums, formats and all digital campaign types.

Your profile

You are a go getter with a passion for copy. You don’t think in terms of challenges but in opportunities and you aren’t afraid to push the boundaries with your creativity. Next to this you bring/are able to:

  • Higher vocational working and thinking level;

  • Fluency in Dutch (ideally a native speaker) & English;

  • 3-5 years of relevant working experience in a similar role (agency or brand side, with copy at the core);

  • Present and back up your ideas well;

  • Meet challenging deadlines;

  • You live in the Netherlands and are willing to come to the office in Amsterdam around 2-3 days a week.
